Tca Peel is a deep strength peel with significant peeling and a few days downtime is expected. Depth of peeling will depend on the strength (concentration) and the number of layers applied on the skin as the more Tca molecules , more activities and deeper peel but may also cause burns if not used correctly.
 
When the peel is applied you will feel a stinging sensation as the acid penetrates the skin. You can use a fan or an ice pack to alleviate any discomfort.
 
If the peel was layered during application and left on long enough, then frosting may occur.
 
Frosting is when the peel changes from clear to white during a chemical peel procedure. This indicates that the acid has penetrated the skin sufficiently and it is now time to rinse off.
 
During the healing process it is common for the frosted areas to darken before peeling off.
 
After peel application, peeling typically starts 3-5 days for face and from 7-14days for body peels.
 
For dark /African skin tone, it is important to prepare skin properly especially when treating hyperpigmentation.
 
The duration of downtime varies according to the individual.
